Two Kailua-Kona men are charged with drug and conspiracy offenses in connection with a package of suspected crystal methamphetamine.
On Dec. 22, the Airport Task Force intercepted a package destined for a Kailua-Kona residence. A canine screening produced an alert, indicating the odor of a controlled substance emanating from the package. Kona vice officers obtained a search warrant and seized about 40 grams of a substance they suspect to be crystal methamphetamine.
On Dec. 23, officers arrested 25-year-old James Boyle and 31-year-old Clayton Sexton. Boyle was charged with criminal conspiracy and first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. Sexton was charged with criminal conspiracy and attempted first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug.
Sexton’s bail was set at $60,000 and Boyle’s at $15,000. Both made their initial court appearances Tuesday and were scheduled for preliminary hearings Wednesday.
